The Rhodos
The skiing in the PDS is probably the best I have ever experienced. The pistes are packed powder, the skies are blue and the slopes are empty.Today we skied across to France for lunch in one of our favourite restaurants.Les Rhodos, in the goat village of Linderets, has an excellent new menu with a Plat du Jour for 17 euros and Cafe Gourmand for only 5 euros. The service is quick and the sunny terrace is large and sheltered. The sun is forecast to last until Thursday when heavy snow returns to the resort. If you can make it out here soon you will have a fantastic holiday.
Great skiing conditions in Morgins but take care

I had a lovely day out skiing the Swiss side of the Portes de Soleil on Monday with empty pistes and empty restaurants. There is still plenty of off piste but you do need to be very careful. We saw a shocking avalanche covering the piste on our way into Les Croset. The pictures show how vulnerable you can be, even on the piste, when the snow becomes unstable.I don’t think anyone was hurt but they were checking no one was buried just in case.

PS that looks like hard work for those poor dogs in that deep snow!
